Establishment of the Ernst Jung Foundation for Science and Research for the purpose of supporting various scientific disciplines

1975 The promotional activity is focused on the field of human medicine
1976 Death of the founder on 8 January; the day, when the awardees are announced every year
1976 First awarding of the Ernst Jung Prize for Medicine on 18 May, the 80th birthday of the late founder; since then, the award ceremony for the prizes has been celebrated in May
1996 The Nobel Prize for Medicine is awarded to Ernst Jung Prize for Medicine laureate Dr. Rolf Martin Zinkernagel
2006 Introduction and first awarding of the Ernst Jung Career Advancement Award for Medical Research
