Blankenese Conferences 2024 – Science in Dialogue
At the end of June 2024, the Blankenese Conferences took place, with the Jung Foundation as the main sponsor. For many years, this conference has provided a platform for scientific exchange, bringing together leading experts from various disciplines. The event was opened with a warm welcome by Prof. Blanche Schwappach-Pignataro, Dean of the Medical Faculty at the University of Hamburg and a member of both the Board of Trustees and the Scientific Advisory Board of the Jung Foundation.
Two Jung Prize winners also presented their latest research findings at the Blankenese Conferences 2024 in the so-called Jung Lectures. Prof. Reinhard Jahn, Jung Prize winner 2006, focused on the exocytosis of synaptic vesicles in his lecture. Prof. Thomas Jentsch, Jung Prize winner 2001, highlighted surprising insights into the control of vesicle size via the ASOR channel. The Jung Foundation looks forward to continuing this successful collaboration in 2025.
