JUNG GOLD MEDAL FOR MEDICINE 2026

The Jung Foundation for Science and Research supports cutting-edge human medical research through awards currently totaling up to 540,000 euros per year. With the Jung Gold Medal for Medicine the Foundation recognises great achievements that have already been made. The award honours exceptional contributions to medical progress and the entire lifetime achievement of a scientist in research and clinical work.

The medal does not just serve as a symbolic gesture of esteem and acknowledgement, it is also linked to a scholarship currently amounting to €30,000. The medallist can award this to an aspiring young scientist of their choice.

The Jung Gold Medal for Medicine has been awarded since 1990. Its laureates include pioneers in different specialist medical fields. An overview of the previous winners of the Jung Gold Medal for Medicine and the other awards of the Jung Foundation can be found here.
